Finally. I finished editing and posting the other weddings...and was able to finish up my wedding pictures. I had help, Danny, my wedding photography partner. He took pictures of the actual ceremony and the get together after. I took the pictures of the dress, rings, flowers, etc. And I did the post processing on all of the images.
Now. About the wedding. How can I describe the most perfect evening on the beach? Warm. A soft breeze. A golden sunset. Water the color of topaz. Beautiful blue skies. Soft sounds of the ocean...waves lapping on the sand, seagulls in the distance, wind in the seaoats.
We were married on Langdon Beach, which is part of Gulf Islands National Seashore. Afterwards we went to Peg Leg Pete's and celebrated.
Had I tried, it couldn't of been more perfect. It was completely all I had hoped for. Simple. So simple. I found my wedding dress at a little shop in New Orleans. My flowers were made by Mattie at Winn Dixie! (I have some pictures of her below.) Our cake, which by the way was delicious, came from Publix. White, with rasberry filling and cream cheese frosting. So good! Drew had the diamond in my engagement ring reset in a lovely mount. Called Cathedral. My wedding band is simple with sparkly diamonds. His is a plain band.
There was a serene peacefulness directly linked to the simplicity of it all. All I remember seeing was his face and the ocean going on forever.
And now I am married to the man I have loved for so long...Drew.
